To all those still wondering whether they should get the Eyewitness cd or not...make sure you know where the 'repeat' button is on whichever music player you are using... 'cause you're going to need it!!

I'm writing this article because, having listened to the cd, I simply cannot but tell that which I've heard. The cd tackles some of the toughest issues facing the Christian youth of today head on, and yet in such a manner that one isn't offended and neither left wondering, 'umm, yes I've felt like that before too, but what do I do about it?' Too often in the Christian churches of today, we outline and breakdown Christian issues so perfectly and comprehensively, yet never provide practical answers that people (especially young people) can relate to and apply in their lives. Not so with the messages of this cd.

Through the lyrics of the various songs issues such as doubt, unworthiness, taking a stand for God, His endless love for us, the reality of Christianity and many biblical truths to name but a few, are all addressed and portrayed as realistically as you can hope for - by someone who has quite obviously grappled with these issues as well, and gained the victory through Christ. The chorus of my favourite track on the cd - Teach me to love You - really penetrated deep into my heart, and caused me to re-evaluate the life I live. As I went along my usual way, the words "teach me Lord, to put no other gods before You" ricocheted back to me off everything I did, and caused me to seriously consider whether my relationship with God was genuinely my top priority in all and everything I attempted.

One of the aspects of this cd as a whole I appreciate most, is it's music style. The conspicuous absence of the harsh, distracting sound of drums that so often blight the so-called Christian music of our day, is such a blessing. It just goes to show that Christian artists can bring across their message soulfully and powerfully, without trailing the defiling ways of the world behind them all the way. Rudi truly has always had God-gifted hands on the piano, and Andriette's voice is indeed one of the purest and smoothest you'll ever hear. These talents on their own mean nothing at all, but surrendered to the service of God and solely to His purpose, they lift up Christ to  the glorious and majestic heights our Saviour so greatly deserves.

I can continue expressing the thrill and fulfilment this cd has wrought in my Christian experience for many, many pages. But I'll leave these things for you to discover yourself. I'm humbled by the mighty way God has used ordinary young people like you and I to produce such a marvellous tribute to His name.

Rudi & Andriette: Stick oh-so-close to the Prince of Peace's side and continue walking unflinchingly and steadfastly in His ways. I look to the future in eager anticipation to see what awe-inspiring work God will use you for next.

May God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit continue to richly bless your ministry.
